AJANTA CAVES

From Aurangabad we went Ellora caves & came back then took a hotel room stayed a night. Next day we started. Ajanta is located 107 kilometers from Aurangabad. It takes 3 to 4hrs. by car. We reach there by 1.00pm  parked the car in parking took entry fee then stand in the queue to pick Ajanta tourist bus to go further 2 kms to 3 kms. You can’t go there by your own vehicle to the site no private vehicle is allowed.  We get down from the bus and reached the site by that its almost 2.00pm felt so hungry found restaurant? Yes, restaurants are there which serves us all type of Indian foods mostly all tourists will go and take some energy foods before or after climbing the hill.so no need to take any eatables baggage from the parking everything is available in restaurant with affordable rates.

Ajanta caves have been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983, it is located in Indhyadri range of western Ghats. Caves are approximately 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments which date from 2^nd century. The cave includes paintings and rock-cut sculptures described as among finest surviving examples of ancient Indian art. The arts are masterpiece of Buddhist religion so you can see lots of foreigners visit this place. The caves are U shaped gorge of the river Waghur in deccan plateau. There are number of waterfalls, audible from outside the caves when the river is high. Prefer to visit this place in rainy (monsoon)season (June to September) surely feast for the eyes.

The narrow and deep steps are there, while climbing continuously it seem to be difficult don’t worry there are lots of palki or palanquin (human-powered wheel less vehicles for the transport of person) are available, so if you feel tired try it. Its one-way path, climbing up by one route and get down by another way. Getting down is absolutely not difficult you can walk by enjoying the scenery of the hills and view of mountains, rivers.

Nearby the carpark shopping place is available its good to buy a memorable thing to your loved ones or to your home. You can buy lots of home décor things, lanterns, artificial antique jewelry, paintings.
